		<description>Good post.  I think the key to answering your questions lies in understanding Jewish tradition,and the place of the paschal lamb...at least that is a start.  Death passed over households that had the blood of the lamb painted on the door.  Death will pass over us if we are marked with Jesus&#039; blood.  The sacrifice is necessary for the reparation of sins, as it always was for the Old Testament Jews.</description>

<p>I don&#8217;t know the answer, but &#8230; though his life  was his message, maybe his death was the proof or example or conviction of that message.   He held nothing back.</p>
