The Crusades and colonialism have, in my opinion, created quite an obstacle between the Arab and Western cultures. In the US, we shed the colonialism roughly 200 years ago, but we didn&#039;t become buddies with Britain overnight. When one considers the Middle-East&#039;s very recent ascent out of colonialism, it&#039;s easier to see how they might be suspicious and resentful towards the West. Plus, we haven&#039;t done much to endear them to us since then...</description>
